My only night on tonight and I'm Charge nurse lol go figure. Anyways I think these 5 days should be fun. With a second trip to the OC fair with sweet, then her relatives bday party in temecula with an OTP outing with the guys in the evening should be pretty bombtactular.
2 more weeks till the BSN program begins, and ends on May 2011. this should be fun. |

So here I am, Charge nurse tonight 2/3. Isn't that bad. I'll be charge tomorrow too.I have a couple of days off with a transplant class on wednesday. Other than that I am just peachy keen. Hope everyone is ok. JuneJuly is approaching. Michelle's bday in July. Taste of chicago in June (hope I get the days off). Got back in the BSN program at the Mount this August so just a year more and I finally get my BSN. Really happy.. |

So here I am tonight at work. Last night till friday/saturday. I have 2 pts tonight, with my fresh kidney tx pt. Really nice fellow with his gf at his side. Really sweet of them. Full of good spirits.
So february is gonna be a fun month. Jeffer's bday in feb 19-21, orienting to charge last week of feb/1st week march then dont know when I'm going to charge, but at least I know I can charge when I need to be.
Tired, off for 2 nights after this. See michelle on wednesday, relax thursday and get paid. Pay bills/work friday/saturday then off for 3. Super bowl sunday especially this sunday. Should be fun.

Well here I am at 6NW at my new weekend. I have 1 more night then I am off for 8 days!!! man I just can't wait to relax and do nothing. the best feeling at times when you just can lay in bed and actually think what you are gonna do that day. Apartment hunting, relaxing, maybe play a tourney at Bicycle, see my sweet, call up omar jeff jay whichever is free and just relax knowing I dont have to go to work for 8 days.
Post again when I go on break after tomorrow!!
Chicago was awesome!! oh do I know haha. Fresh snow, sweetheart, ken and kryzia and all the relatives is was super awesome!!

well...xmas is just around the corner, and me, michelle n ken are headed to CHICAGO!!! went there last year, and gonna continue to try to make it yearl for xmas there. I feel like shit though, been sick since friday (either I got it from max or kryzia when she was sick lol). I honestly dont think I can work another shift tomorrow. I have already have the fever with the productive cough (green mucus) with a sore throat. I need to get better, start packing and get my stuff ready. So I do not know if I'll work tomorrow ( sorry guys, I actually was gonna call in but I promised michelle/TJ i would make it to tonight's shift..and at least I did lol)
I'm thankful for everything this year...thankful for a beautiful gf who gives me constant support and love that I need that makes me function every day of the week. thankful for my twin that keeps me in the loop of things and gives me advice (same with my gf =)). Thankful for my sister and family and my close friends and co workers (they kno who they are, that constantly gives me help and support and advice that I need that shows how much they care. Much love to you guys.. The best precceptor ive ever had in patrick, help with hendry and michelle/priscilla, maxwell (we came here together, and funny that we'll be getting our BSN's together!!). Nurse managers that I kno I can depend on and that can depend on me.
Let's make this a bomb ass happy holidays and new year...

here I am at 6nw again as resource...Sucks to know that some people are mad because you have a favorable schedule. It's not like I personally ask for it, or personally ask to do stuff, or to be superuser/ambassador, or even be resource. Why should I be sad or angry that people dont like me for that? The Nursing management can depend and trust me with resposibility, and I hit it like payday and come through. So I guess I can assume that thats what they gave me. Ill be orienting as charge nurse in january, because they (the management) told me that they can depend on me..
I know I can do it, and they see it. So why are others hating on me.. sucks cuase I thought the people that are hating were my friends. So i'll just be different. I'll work and help on a professional level...but I dont think I can be the same around them the way I used to be before all this. It's cool.i kno who my friends are.
Had a good talk with john the other day when we went to dinner at big wangs after CS-link. NO matter what I've been through or the jokes we talk to each other about, or even the shit talking we do (cause thats how we were brought up), I kno we cna both depend on each other... hell our first gf was the same girl hahahahaha
ill feel better once I hit the snow in chicago on december 22...cant wait. Chicago in xmas with my bro sister and gf..its going to be great!!!

So here I am, night 2 of 3 for Cedars Emar go live. Last night was tough but doable. Instead of having 2 calls for essentials elements and Order/EMAR/PMAR, I only got one. So I had Peachy, Ray and Mike roberts all the directors of Critical care and surgical services. And with our teams combined with me hendry and henry, we were able to catch up and finish our floor at 0530. YAY!!
Tonight was ok. Just tried to med recon all the meds for every pt, and I just finished it about 30 minutes ago, but I started it at 12 i believe. Not that bad. haha
One more night then I am done for 3 nights for the BBQ on Thursday... that should be fun! |

Here I am again as super user at 6NW. Some people here either don't want to be taught (and they claim they know already), then there are others that want to be taught. Then you got the nurses in between who want to be taught but when you teach them they say I already know it lol. I thikn I'm ready to be the first super user for the go live shit on Nov 14, but theres always that notion if i fuck up or whatever.
Then you got the people who say you are not ready to precept. I say BULLSHIT!! Ive been already a nurse for about a year 1/2, I think I'm ready to precept. It's not my fault that I got pick to precept someone from a college. I had awesome preceptors (patrick), not to mention awesome nurses that I can turn to (Hendry, Myrna, Adela) so what the fuck is their problem? I understand that I dont have the 20 year experience factor, but it also is determined by how well they can teach. You need to have a rapport with the nurse and espeically be patient when the preceptee might not know a thing or 2. That's me, freakin super patient. I know how it feels from the other side (as patrick precepted me). He was awesome, and I think I can be my own and precept as well. I am well knowledged, but it doesnt mean I can't ask questions when I need to. Time will tell within a month how I am as a preceptor.
And why can't I call in sick? seems like I'm exploited just for "getting me exceed level raise". If you guys want me to stay late, train, work nightshift, work 6ICU/6NW, at least be fair with the schedule you know. Let me get at least 2 days off, instead of 3 nights on, 1 day off, 2 nights on, 1 day off, 3 nights on. Doesnt that sound like shit? It makes me think that I've been here like 7 days in a row. i need a break hahah but seriously I do. I work hard, we all do. Everyone I kno on this floor works freakin hard, and sometimes just a little encouragement and acknowledgement would be great. And not just the usual," you guys are doing a great job" would be accepted cause that too general. what about a," Max your doing a fine job as resource nurse," or a ," Elson, thanks for floating to 6ICU, or staying late to train everyone," or even a ,"Patrick, thanks for making ur schedule flexible, if you need any days off lets us know" At least that shows we're valued. That's all that in the end. I working my butt of night in/night out and if one person tells me thank you at least i know that it's paying off and we're being appreciated... With that said...I have one night off lol then back again from Monday-wednesday. Lets not try to get sick now.
Xmas gifts almost done for my GF, hope she likes it =) just gotta work and save enough money for the thanksgiving sale yay |

So guys, its 0405 am and I'm at 5NW....with 1 pt. Super Super rare that I do. Our floor is to be closed today and reopen on Monday. So the other pt that I had I transferred to 5NE. So I'm just here now with Patrick (whos Charge Nurse tonight) at the nursing station savoring every bit of this, cause tomorrow will be back at 6NW with the same shit that'll we'll be going through everytime we're there. Admissions, pts who are not thankful they're being taken care of by nice/great nurses, and staff that sometimes will not back you up if you need sumthin. Although the nurses I work with I know for a fact they'll be with me through thick and thin (through the numerous RRT/Code Blues I've been in).
One more night and I' m off just for one night. Sorrie sweetheart about not going to the baseball game on monday. I'll make it up to you this saturday...CAUSE ITS PAYDAY WEEK!!! yay!!!!
Waiting to take a break when the other nurse gets back....

So here I am back at work. Oh how 5 nights have already passed. Wish I had another 5 more hahah. I'm here at 5NW (which is supposed to be our 6ICU but due to a blown sewer, we're here). 4 pts tonight. Tomorrow I'll be here too with Patrick so that'll be cool. I work alot the next 2 weeks. On for 4 nights, off for 1with workshop on Tuesday, back thursday friday, then back on mon/tues, friday/sat (i think). Thats about 7 days plus 8 hours overtime. Paycheck should look pretty damn good.
I have time to chill on tuesday/wednesday if anyone wants to do sumthin. Hope everyones doing fine. Also, if anyone wants to go to Universal Studios Horror Fest 2009 either on October 16, 23, or the 30th let me know. I'm planning sumthing for the co-worker and if anyone else wants to go, the more the merrier. The tram rider is gonna be pretty damn cool...it was last year especially. If anyone new comes, I wont say what it is haha.
